Last year I decided to change a few of my systems and forms of networking so that I looked less into ‘networking events’ and focused more on relationship building. The results, both personally and professionally, have been profound. It’s been a great year and I’ve been blessed to better know some really great people.
So I was invited to this wedding industry networking event last night and I almost went…for several reasons, but the foremost was that it was formatted in a ‘speed dating’ style where you sit down with everyone for a few minutes for some ‘speed networking.’ Not that I thought a few quick minutes with these people would really provide deep and meaningful connections or stimulate the desire for others to want to build anything with me, but more so because it simply sounded fun.
